David Benenhaley is senior safety specialist at Santee Cooper Power. He is president of the South Carolina chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and serves on the board of directors of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association.
Walt Barefoot is an attorney with McAngus, Goudelock & Courie. His practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense. Having focused on workers' compensation defense since 1991, Walt has experience defending carriers and employers in South Carolina, and works with all types of claims. He regularly tries cases before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission, and has also tried cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Walt works closely with his clients to provide the best and most efficient service possible. Walt graduated from Wofford and received his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Kay Kiser is an Account Executive with The Directions Group, an EK Health Services Company. The Directions Group is a leading national managed care company specializing in nurse case management, UR and bill review, MSA'S, vocational rehabilitation, vocational litigation and consulting and life care planning. She is a graduate of USC- Coastal Carolina and holds a BS in Business Administration and Finance.
AnnMargaret has worked with Midlands Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery since 1998, servings as the CEO since 2010. She has also served as COO, Director of Administration and Human Resources Director. AnnMargaret previously served as a language arts teacher at Newberry Middle School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from USC's Honor College.
Mike Chase is a shareholder and 28 year member of the nationally recognized Workplace Law Group at Turner Padget, providing practical counsel to businesses across the state. Chase helps lead Turner Padget's workers' compensation defense practice. His primary role is defending workers' compensation claims, representing employers, carriers and self-insured clients throughout SC. Mike works closely with the Firm's employment law specialists where Workers Compensation and Employment Law issues overlap. Devoting his practice to workers' compensation defense and mediation, Mike is approved panel counsel for most workers' compensation carriers and TPA's conducting business in South Carolina. His current client focus is with large accounts, while simultaneously managing a volume of work for carriers, TPA's and self-insured employers. His clients include hospital systems, national big box stores, power companies, restaurant chains, package delivery services, produce processors, manufacturers, regional HVAC contractor/service providers, telecommunications providers, grocery store chains, trucking and transportation companies, distribution facilities, retail outlets, and construction firms.
Nichole R. Dunmeyer
Nichole R. Dunmeyer, SHRM-SCP, is the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Charleston Water System in Charleston. She is a licensed insurance adjuster in the state of South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and the University of Charleston with a Masters of Public Administration degree. She also holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston.
Anna Fleming is the Director of Employee Health and Wellness for Prisma Health. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Clemson University and has worked with Prisma Health since 2004.
B. Gibbs Leaphart, Jr.
Gibbs focuses his practice in the area of workers’ compensation defense. Since 2005, Gibbs has represented employers, carriers, and self-insured employers. He has practiced before the state trial courts, appellate courts, and South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission. In addition to being a board member of the South Carolina Employers Advocacy Association, he is a member of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association and the National Workers’ Compensation Defense Network. Gibbs receive his BA from Wofford College and was awarded his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Megan Morgan is a National Account Manager for Lemieux & Associates, a national private investigative agency. We offer a multitude of services under the surveillance umbrella such as clinic inspections, medical checks, hospital/doctor sweeps, activity checks, manned/unmanned surveillance, etc. Megan is a graduate of Clemson University. She has been in the workers compensation/risk management industry since 2014.
Amy Nine is a member of the HR Department at McEntire Produce and is currently serving as the company’s Safety Coordinator. During her time with the company, Amy has been engaged in all aspects of HR, including workers’ comp administration, benefits administration, employee relations, risk management, and training and development. She received her BBA in Management from Francis Marion University and has since earned her SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications through the Society for Human Resource Management and her Advanced Safety Certificate through National Safety Council.
Heather Ricard has been with the Municipal Association of South Carolina since 2005 and was appointed as the Director of Risk Management Services in March, 2012. She previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Risk Management programs of the Association and directed the financial accounting and reporting functions for the SC Municipal Insurance Trust, SC Municipal Insurance and Risk Financing Fund, SC Local Government Assurance Group and SC Other Retirement Benefits Employer Trust.
Before joining the Association, Heather served in various accounting positions with the City of Vacaville, California, and worked with the city for almost nine years. She is a CPA and graduate of the University of South Carolina. Heather also received her master's in business administration from California State University.
Chip Timmons is the Risk Manager for the City of Columbia. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters of Public Administration degree and a Bachelors degree in political science.
Andrew Walker has been with BMW MC for nineteen years. For the first thirteen years, he was responsible for Occupational Safety and currently leads their Disability Management activities which includes Occupational Health, Short Term Disability, and Workers' Compensation. Prior, he was a compliance officer with the NC Department of Labor's OSH Division. He received his B.S. in Environmental Health from East Carolina University and his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina. He maintains both Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional certifications.
Tosca Walls is the Director of TPA Operations at Companion Third Party Administrators, LLC. Tosca holds a BS in Business Administration (Finance) from Austin Peay State University. She has earned the Association in Claims (AIC), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) and Certified Workers' Compensation Professional (CWCP) designations. Tosca currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association.
